As Homer Simpson says, “it’s funny ’cause it’s true”, well… for philosophical naturalists at least. One of the things that strikes me about philosophical naturalism is that it often doesn’t reflect the way we actually experience the world e.g. in terms of emotions and relationships. In such a world-view, there is indeed no confidence, nor justice just, as Richard Dawkins put it, “blind, pitiless indifference”. But that’s not my world-view; mine says:
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
